Turn up the heat: Marge’s hot takes

Grey’s Anatomy is Overrated.
I know, who could hate Ellen Pompeo? The incredible acting and the chemistry that occurs between the actors is undeniably attention grabbing. However, the popularity of this show has always been confusing to me. Where is the substance? All of the episodes are basically repeats of each other with added scenes and “romance” scenes. Then there’s the issue of the viewers thinking they know everything about the medical field because they watch it. This is a major issue. How long until a fan witnesses a medical emergency and attempts to spring into action because they “watch Grey’s Anatomy.” Admittedly, many of the cases are accurate, but it’s only because the show doesn’t go into full detail. As always, if you’re curious about the medical field, ask someone who has experience. But, if you’re looking for a drama-filled, romance packed show, then this is the show for you.
Pet Names in Relationships are Annoying.
I understand that people use pet names to express affection towards their significant others, but it comes to a point where it gets old and repetitive. For example, calling someone “baby” and “babe” 24/7 tends to take away the true meaning behind the pet name, and instead becomes a place holder for the person’s actual name. I mean, at what point does using pet names as a term of endearment turn into using them because you feel like you have to or because it simply becomes a nickname for the person it applies to? I feel like if you really want to show someone that you really love them, show them. Actions really do speak louder than words and just like words, there’s a million ways to show someone just how much you mean to them.
The Only Acceptable Pickle is Kosher Dill.
I stand firm on this one. Why should a cucumber that’s been fermented in vinegar taste sweet or tangy? It doesn’t feel right. A pickle should taste sour and bitter but at the same time refreshing, not like I’m eating a piece of candy. Plus, there’s so many different versions of kosher dill pickles that you just can’t find in other pickles.
Netflix Sucks.
Not only is Netflix cutting down on people sharing accounts, but the content quality has also really gone downhill. Many of the shows that people used Netflix for have either been removed or canceled and it makes it so the platform is full of Netflix Originals with bad acting or old movies and tv shows. I’m not saying that there aren’t good shows on Netflix, but they’re definitely hard to come by. Overall, I feel like you could get so much more out of streaming services such as HBO Max or Hulu that provide more recent and higher quality tv shows and movies for half the price.
