Team Selena or Team Hailey?

The drama between Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber’s ex-girlfriend, and Hailey Bieber, Justin Bieber’s wife, has expanded over the last month. This drama has been going on for years; however, fans started picking apart Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez’s actions on February 22nd.  

Selena posted on her TikTok on the 22nd about how she over laminated her brows and hours later, Hailey posted on her Instagram story with her friend, Kylie Jenner, showing a close-up of their eyebrows with a caption reading, “This was an accident???” Fans then took this as Hailey making fun of Selena.  

Fans believe that Hailey Bieber, right, has been copying Selena Gomez, left, which has is why fans have been finding old videos in the media to further accuse Bieber.

Shortly after, Hailey ended up taking this post down; however, fans were quick to screenshot this picture and repost it elsewhere. After Hailey’s Instagram post, Kylie and Selena both denied the speculations. Kylie even commented, saying, these speculations were “a reach.” Selena called the rumors “unnecessary.”  

Hailey Bieber, Justine Skye, and Kendall Jenner also posted a TikTok where they lip synced to the words, “I’m not saying she deserved it, but God’s timing is always right.” When fans saw this post, they immediately perceived it as a dig to Selena. Some sources say that this post was referring to Selena receiving body shaming in the media recent to this TikTok post. This video was also deleted, and Hailey clarified, saying this video is “not directed at anyone.” 

The media has also dived deep into dissecting videos and images of Hailey “copying” Selena. There are images of outfits that Hailey has worn which look identical to what Selena has worn at previous events. Another parallel between the girls is a tattoo Hailey has of a cursive “J” for Justin Bieber. However, it is almost identical to a ring Justin gave Selena when they were dating.

Hailey has also started a cooking segment on YouTube called What’s in my Kitchen. Bieber’s cooking show, however, has some parallels to Selena Gomez’s cooking segment on HBO Max which was running before Bieber’s.  

Since this feud has started, #teamselena has received 750 million views on TikTok because everyone is interested in getting the full story behind the drama. The majority of people have been quick to side with Selena in the media because most of Hailey’s actions have been perceived as negative towards Selena, while Selena has remained cordial.  

Before all this drama erupted, Kylie Jenner’s Instagram account held the title for the most followed women. However, Selena has gained around 10 million followers on Instagram – to the point where she has surpassed Kylie. Together, Hailey and Kylie have lost around 800,000 followers.
