In 2011, Julius Ellenberger had been hoping for a dog for a long time when he finally got his wish. He was woken up by his mother and instructed to quickly get ready. After a little drive, he and his family arrived at a puppy mill. He observed what he describes as “probably thousands of puppies” all in poor condition. His mom was friends with a rescuer, but was unable to take as many puppies as she wanted. As Julius and his family walked around the property, a small brown and black puppy approached and began sniffing Julius and his mom. They immediately knew this would be their new family member.
As they welcomed their new puppy to their home, Julius was tasked with the job of naming the pup. After much deliberation, he finally decided it would be most fitting to name her after his favorite football team, the Baltimore Ravens. Raven is an absolutely adorable dachshund maltese mix.
Raven has adapted to her new lifestyle very well and is a staple of the Ellenberger household. She enjoys eating carrots and lounging on the couch. She also loves giving her family and anyone she meets by giving them plenty of kisses.
