It’s Holiday Season! Time for all the holiday shopping, but let’s not go to all the big retail stores. Support some small boutiques! And who is better to give some recommendations than me, a fellow Bel Air shopper who visits these stores at least once a month.
Apricot Lane
Apricot Lane has a big assortment of clothing on Main Street in Bel Air, Maryland. There is no particular style they have as you can find many unique clothing types and patterns to branch out your personal style; they also have a large collection of jewelry. As their website says, they “[bring] in new styles earlier and more often.”
Bray & Em
I never leave Bray & Em empty handed. I always find either a cute piece of jewelry, clothing, or a fun gadget to leave with. I’ve found two of my favorite dresses from there and still wear them to this day. As for other things, they have decorations, beauty products, or kitchen/bathroom gadgets to make your life easier. You can find this store right next to one of the Harford Mall entrances.
The Teal Antler
This is what I would call a very preppy boutique. You walk in and the aesthetic is strong. Every current teenage girl would fall in love with this place immediately, even if they didn’t buy anything. It is very photogenic, and the decorations and clothing are so cute. This boutique is located in the Rock Spring Commons in Forest Hill.
Francesca’s
Everyone knows this boutique, whether you’ve seen it in the Harford Mall or not, as this one happens to be a chain. There are multiple locations around the country for people to go to, so it is a well-known store. Although it is a tight space, there is much to offer like homecoming dresses, wedding and birthday gifts, jewelry, and lots of cute pieces of clothing. I can’t help myself when I am in a mall and seem to wander into Francesca’s for a quick look around.
The Nest
The Nest is a boutique that includes lots of home decorations and gifts. It has a large assortment of items, such as kitchen and home décor, baby toys and décor, gifts, spices or simple recipes, and much more. This place sells everything but clothes, so if you need a break from clothes but want to support somewhere small, this is the place!
The Schoolhouse
This boutique’s name is very creative as it really used to be a schoolhouse. However, it has since been transformed into a new local boutique in Fallston. Unlike the other stores, it includes lots of nice greenery, which makes the store seem more open and refreshing. The store includes plants, craft supplies, home décor, small baby toys, and of course, many gifts you can easily find for a loved one.
