The early 2000s. A time of excessive Dream Matte Mousse, layered tops, and frosted eyeshadow. I think we can all agree this was a great time period of experimentation and expression where many trends flourished. Some were great, and some were….not so great. There are some trends that should come back and some that should definitely stay in their peak, and on that note, here are some trends I strongly believe should make a comeback.
Frosted Makeup
Some people love it, some people hate it. I personally believe that when it’s done right, this is a very cute and colorful look. This iconic look has been done by everyone’s favorite faces of the 2000s such as Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Beyonce, and Rihanna. Anyway, I’d love to see people walking around with shimmery pastel eyelids and frosted lips, as I think it’s a very flattering look that can suit anyone.
Old PINK
I’ll just come right out and say that absolutely nothing beats the era of the bright colors, yoga pants, and shorts with a thick waistband and “PINK” written across the back, Love Spell body mist, and getting a mini PINK dog with your purchase. I still love today’s PINK styles, but I would just love to see the early 2000s looks make a comeback.
Juicy Tracksuits
They’re cute, they’re comfortable, and Paris Hilton wears them (she still has a whole closet just devoted to them). What more could you possibly ask for? They also make you look athletic without having to lift a finger, as well as being velvety and flattering on everyone – like pajamas, but more put together. These track suits also have many different colors to choose from, as well as cute little designs in sequins like butterflies or just the word “Juicy” on the back. So, the possibilities are endless, and you can’t go wrong.
Low-rise jeans
I know these have already started to somewhat make a comeback, but I just thought they should be included because they’re so cute and can be styled different ways and look stunning no matter what, whether they’re styled with a baby tee, a cropped tank top, or a cropped velour jacket, as pictured above on Paris Hilton in 2002. I also love how many different styles and designs that are available, like crossed laces, embroidery along the waist, ties, thick belts, etc. This was definitely one of the more creative and advanced fashion trends of the time, and even if you don’t like them, I think we can all agree anything is better than skirts over jeans (and unfortunately, we could never forget that, even if we tried).
Butterfly Clips
We all know and love the classic butterfly clips and all the adorable hairstyles that came with them. Honestly, I don’t know why we ever stopped wearing them. They’re glittery, conveniently sized, and come in all different colors. Personally, I think the combo of these clips with a frosted makeup look and a juicy tracksuit would be unstoppable.
