Homecoming is right around the corner at Fallston High School, which begs the question: what dresses are we wearing this year? Easter dresses? Bodycon? Let’s talk about what’s trending.
I conducted a small survey through The Print, and we came up with many different dress brands that we think most people are buying from. The brands that we believe are the trendiest right now are Lucy in the Sky, Sherri Hill, Windsor, Princess Polly, Hello Molly, Lulus, Edikted, and some even Amazon.
But what style of dress is trending? Obviously, homecoming calls for short dresses, but what styles?
Recently in today’s media, bodycon dresses are on a massive incline. In the past couple of years, most girls aim to get a tight-fitting dress. But fit and flare dresses are also gaining much popularity. In contrast to less popular skater type dresses, flare dresses hug the top of the body, then slightly flare out closer to the legs, while skater dresses flair out completely right at the waist.
Now that we’ve talked about what style of dresses, what about colors or personality?
This past spring we’ve seen a massive amount of prom dresses that people are calling “Easter dresses.” These dresses consist of light pastel colors, florals, and many frills, and boy, have they made an impact. But are these still trending?
Looking at many of the sites listed above, there’s a massive increase in light colored, minimalistic dresses in contrast to the tight, dramatic, and sparkly dresses that used to be trending.
So, what homecoming dress should you buy? I’ve told you what’s trending, but homecoming is the perfect time to dress how you want. Self-expression is key to being confident. You’re gorgeous! Wear whatever makes you feel best.
