We all know and love Crumbl Cookie, but recently, it has been less than great. Crumbl Cookie, which launched in 2017 and grew in popularity on TikTok during 2021, was so popular at the time that even celebrities would pose with Crumbl boxes. They stand out for their unique variety of cookies, but some would argue that they haven’t been good recently because the lineups for the week include more than just cookies.
As someone who was and is still a Crumbl lover (Ashley), I’m disappointed that I’m not expecting cookies from Crumbl Cookies anymore. They have such a broad selection of desserts that they almost can’t be called Crumbl Cookies anymore. I could go anywhere for a good cake or other dessert, but I expect cookies from a place where it’s in the name, especially because cookies are my favorite dessert.
Things like puddings, cakes/cupcakes, and brownies can come from other local shops around. Flavor Cupcakery and Bake Shop, Newberry Cafe and Bakery, and Woodlea Bakery of Bel Air are just some of the contributors to these desserts. They sell a variety of pastries, cakes, and other desserts that can resolve any craving you may have for something other than a cookie.
Some Crumbl locations have even begun to offer savory items like BBQ mac and pizza hand pies. It seems like they are doing a trial run in select locations and will plan on expanding their savory options into all stores, which is unfortunate because they might become like any other restaurant sooner rather than later.
We think if they choose to add all these new items, they will lose the social media hype that got them to where they are today. Many companies are branching out with bigger ideas, when we loved them as they were from the start. Crumbl is a good company, and we would hate to see the downfall over something that can easily be fixed by going back to their original plans. Bring back the cookies in Crumbl Cookie.
