This year Fallston’s fall drama production will be… Murder on the Orient Express! This production follows detective Hercule Poirot on a murder that has been committed on the Orient Express. He must identify the killer before they strike again. Will he be able to find the killer? Find out on November 22-23 at Fallston High School’s Auditorium, with shows starting promptly at 7 p.m. Ticket sales will start on November 6th and can be purchased through this link: https://fallstonhs.seatyourself.biz. The drama company would love to see you there!
But who will be starring in the play, you may ask? Now introducing the Murder on the Orient Express cast:
Hercule Poirot portrayed by Everett Pfeifer
Everett is a senior this year and it is his first production with the company. He will be portraying Hercule Poirot, the detective in the case of the murder of Mr. Samuel Ratchett. Everett’s favorite part about his character is when he delivers a “monologue at the end where he reveals the killer.” For his first play, I’m sure he will do amazingly. Come out and support Everett and the rest of the cast and find out who the killer is.
Monsieur Bouc portrayed by Lillian Shoobridge
Lillian has been involved in many of the drama productions in her three years at Fallston. She is portraying Monsieur Bouc, who is a high-ranked employee for the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits, which is the company that operates the Orient Express. When asked what she is most excited about for her character, she said, “He’s so dramatic and over the top… I’m very excited to see his energy come to life.” Joining the drama company allows you to make so many different relationships that can last a lifetime. So, she is looking forward to all the new members in the company and is overjoyed “to see [everyone’s] performance.”
Mary Bebenham portrayed by Elizabeth McCarty-Gibson
For Elizabeth’s first production with the company, she will be portraying Mary Bedenham. She is Daisy Armstrong’s governess and a passenger on the train. “She is a good dimensional character in the play,” says Elizabeth. It seems that she has a lot of sides that need to be uncovered. This play “has a lot of twists” and is not like a production the drama company has ever produced before. Elizabeth is excited to see how the company produces shows and their way of doing things.
Hector MacQueen portrayed by Eric Vanderbeek
Eric is ready to make all the amazing memories that senior year has to offer with the drama company, and that starts off with his first role of the year. He will be portraying Hector MacQueen, Mr. Rachett’s secretary, and also one of the prime suspects in this murder. Eric is excited for this role because he is able to play “a new type of character [different] than [he] is used to!” He ends by saying, “You’re not gonna want to miss the show.”
Michel portrayed by Hailey Courtney
Hailey is also a new member of the drama company. She will be portraying Michel, who is the conductor on the Orient Express. Her character has a “breaking point” during the production, and she can’t wait to act that out. Hailey is excited to act in this fall show, but she can’t wait for the spring production, because “[she] loves music” and thinks that it will be a great opportunity to showcase her musical theater abilities.
Princess Dragomiroff portrayed by Lex Courtney
This is Lex’s final play of her High School drama career. She will be portraying Princess Dragomiroff, a Russian Noblewomen traveling on the Orient Express and one of the primary suspects in the case. Lex is excited to play this character because she uses “a level of sass that [she] doesn’t get to use often.” This year is one of the most exciting years of high school for her, and she can’t wait to see things through a “new lens.” She has watched many other seniors leave their legacy in the company and now it is her turn.
Greta Ohlsson portrayed by Gabriella DePaolo
Despite only being a freshman, Gabriella was able to climb to the top and get a leading role in the production. She will portray Greta Ohlsson, the family nurse of the Armstong family. She’s excited to play her character because she gets the chance to embody a character who has a passion for solving the case of the late Daisy Armstrong, but she’s also a “nervous wreck and overly dramatic.” Some of the scenes will be intense and “have you on the edge of your seats!” It seems like this show will be very intriguing and one you won’t want to miss.
Countess Andrenyi portrayed by Liv Querns
Olivia has been in numerous productions with the drama company. For this production she will be portraying Countess Andrenyi, a passenger on the Orient Express during the killing. Hercule Poirot has reason to suspect her, but she does not leave much evidence. Olivia has shown amazing talent during her time in the drama company, and she will show out for this play as well. She and the rest of the drama company hope to “show off all of [their] skills” to a big crowd.
Helen Hubbard portrayed by Madelyn Kelly
Madelyn has “never acted in [her] life,” but thought she would give the drama company a try. She will be portraying Helen Hubbard, an older woman from the Midwest. “My character is a lot, and loves attention, but she is very sweet and uplifting,” she says. Even though she has bad motives for being on the train, she is still a caring person for everyone there. Madelyn wanted to join the drama company this year to “expand [her] hobbies. I think this is something that I really like to do.”
Colonel Arbuthnot portrayed by Lawrence Acevedo
For Lawrence’s last year with the drama company, he was given the honor to be the president of the International Thespian Society. He has worked hard over his four years at Fallston to get where he is today, and that doesn’t stop now with two more productions left for the drama company. Lawrence will be portraying Colonel Arbuthnot, a passenger and suspect on the train. “My favorite part of my character is the accent of Count Arbuthnot and how he acts towards everyone else opposed to Mary,” says Lawrence. If I were you, I would definitely want to hear the accents of many of these characters because they seem to be very interesting.
Samuel Ratchett portrayed by Zack Patton
It’s time to introduce our final senior performing in the play, Zack Patton. You may have seen him performing before, whether it was for a previous play or in the marching band. He is back on the stage again, but this time he will be portraying Samuel Ratchett, the victim killed on the Orient Express. Zack is most excited for his part because he is going to be a villain. He has “never had the opportunity to play a bad guy before” and is “having lots of fun with it.” He is ready to leave his mark on the drama company as he says, “I can’t wait to watch the new and upcoming actors take the reins of the company.”
Head Waiter portrayed by Violet Schwartz
This is Violet’s first play in their 2 years at Fallston, and it’s gonna be a good one. Violet will be portraying the Head Waiter; they will be serving the guests but also delivering some unexpected news to the passengers on the Orient Express. When asked what they were most excited about for their first year in the company, they mentioned how they were excited to “get to know everyone on a deeper level.” The company brings amazing friendships, so if you want to connect with people who have a similar love for theater, consider joining the drama company for their spring production. And who knows, maybe you’ll be able to get advice from Violet if it’s your first production too.
The actors, tech crew, set makers, and directors, have been working extra hard to make this amazing play for the Fallston community. So, show up and support all of their hard work for this production!
