As winter swim season nears its end, Fallston’s swimmers work hard to make it a memorable season. Many of Fallston’s senior swimmers as well as captains are committed to making this season one to remember and “end on a high note,” as Co-Captain Maddy Burch put it.
This season, Fallston’s swim team remains undefeated even after facing off against rival teams like North Harford and Edgewood. The team has yet to face Bel Air High School and C Milton Wright. As for the team’s successes, “practice, practice, and more practice,” was how they prepared for these competitions, Co-Captain Jenny Phillips says.
“As a captain, my goals are to unify the team and bring us to our fullest potential in the water,” Co-Captain Kate Taylor explains, and she has done just that. This year, Fallston’s freshman swimmers have shown the most improvement overall. Freshman Elise Myers was the first swimmer on the team to complete and swim each event for the 2025 season.
“With the many snow days and days off school it’s been hard to get back to consistency,” says Co-Captain Noah Burch. Despite the difficult practice schedules, the team has managed to maintain their winning streak and secure many personal bests throughout the season.
But “not everything is about times and placement,” says Maddy Burch. “This sport can be a unique experience with really cool people.” Not only has the team been successful in the water but outside of the water as well. They have all managed to maintain a positive attitude throughout the season. “Whether they’re a first-year swimmer or a year-round swimmer, they’ve all earned it,” says Jenny.
As the season draws to a close, the team is focused on giving their best in the remaining meets. The leadership of captains Kate Taylor, Jenny Phillips, Maddy Burch, Zack Patton, and Noah Burch have brought forth a successful season. Their hard work and determination throughout the season is paying off. The final meets are sure to reflect the efforts the team has put in this season. We wish the team the best of luck!
