Fallston Men’s Soccer kicked their regular season off with a road trip to Perryville this past Tuesday, a game in which they took down the Panthers 4-2. This game serves as revenge, as they lost to the Cecil County powerhouse two to zero last year, a win that helped propel Perryville to an outstanding 10-2-1 record in 2024.
The Cougars win comes after a preseason loss in penalties to another team who finished with double-digit wins last year, the Eastern Tech Mavericks. The victory serves as a great way to kick off the Cougars season, despite not playing a full preseason; their matchup against Perry Hall during the annual Bel Air Tournament was cancelled due to weather not even halfway into the match.
After making the half-hour trip across the Susquehanna, Cougar fans enjoyed a 4-goal performance from Fallston as the Panthers were unable to take advantage of the home-field advantage. Each goal was scored by a different player, showcasing Fallston’s ability to share the ball and cause defensive miscommunications for their opponent. One goal each came from Ethan Clarke, Caiden Curry, Kaiden Warner, and Levi Tanguay. The defense also turned in a solid performance, led by Lucas Clark and Connor Detamore, who split time in net.
Beloved Head Coach Christopher Hoover and his team hope this win is a sign of things to come as they look to improve on a disappointing 6-9 season in 2024.
