On August 26th, 2025, Taylor Swift entered a new era of life: her fiancé era. In a joint Instagram post with her longtime boyfriend, Travis Kelce, they announced their engagement, and it took the world by storm.
It’s been “a long time coming” since they were first romantically connected in July 2023, when Kelce was spotted attending her Eras Tour in the home stadium of the Kansas City Chiefs. Later the rumors were confirmed when Swift was spotted in September 2023, attending a home game for the Chiefs, and supporting Kelce with his family and friends.
Swift has been through her fair share of relationships and break-ups, but it seems that Kelce was worth the wait. It can be hard being in a relationship that is in the public eye, but Taylor and Travis seem to handle the pressure well and that is why the wedding bells are ringing.
Many Swifties were thrilled to hear the news, commenting; “she better keep that ring! No more breakup songs Taylor,” “Screaming, crying, freaking out,” and “We’re getting a royal wedding.” While many have loved the idea of their engagement, there are some fans who are not happy.
Rumors have been circulating that Swift has been getting death threats all over social media, and sadly, while it is common for many celebrities to receive them, with recent events, these threats have held an entirely different meaning. Recently, while she was attending a Chiefs game, fans spotted her traveling behind a bullet proof black wall to protect from possible attacks. While it is unknown whether that has to do with recent threats, it is still sad to see an engagement be overshadowed by such negativity.
On a better note, the wedding bells are set to ring next summer, and with Taylor and Travis, we know it will be something amazing and worth the wait. We can’t wait to see how this new era looks on both Taylor and Travis, and best of luck to them.
