The 76th annual Primetime Emmy Award Show, held on September 14th, 2025, has come and gone, but the guests’ red carpet looks have not left my mind. As you can imagine, it was a star-studded event filled with breathtaking gowns and suits, and some that were not as amazing. From Colman Domingo to Selena Gomez, it appears as though the guests tried to put their best fit forward, so let’s take a look at the 2025 Emmys best and worst dressed.

Although Sarah Burton’s latest runway show for Givenchy isn’t my favorite, I am delighted to see this look on Ortega. The top is shown on look 47 from Fall-Winter 2025, and it’s been so interesting to see what old Hollywood gothic look she’ll pull next. I’m also happy to see a wet hair look that I don’t completely hate, and I enjoy the high slit on the skirt.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love Leighton Meester and recognize the impact she had on fashion during her Gossip Girl era, but this dress is not doing it for me. There are so many things wrong with this look, the cut-outs and the ombre being the biggest ones. It’s very juvenile to me and I know Prada could’ve done better.

Domingo has yet to miss the mark in custom Valentino, and this look is no exception. My favorite part of this suit is the bedazzled tassels hanging off the suit jacket. My only issue with this outfit is the pants: not only are they brown, but they’re a little too long in my eyes. Overall, this color is stunning on him, and he always looks fabulous.

Now, I’m not quite familiar with this woman, and I can tell she’s very beautiful. But the dress? Not so much. I love Prada, but this dress seems odd for the brand. Again, with the cutouts, I don’t know why Prada keeps doing this. I get that sheer is a big trend right now, but this was not executed correctly because you can see every seam in the dress. There’s a lot happening everywhere and it is overall hard to look at.

My beloved Pedro Pascal stepped out in a cream-colored Celine suit. My favorite thing about this look is the puff on the sleeves; they’re very Victorian. I adore his sunglasses, and his hair is nicely styled. A double-breasted suit is always going to make me happy. His new stylist is doing him justice.

Although I’ve been mostly loving Alessandro Michele’s Valentino, this look missed the mark for me. From the red bob to the tiered, lace skirt, this look just does not do it for me. Elle Fanning had worn a very similar look to this one and was immensely better. Something that stands out to me with this look is the overlapping of the cape tie and her necklace. There’s just a lot going on and very little balance between those things.

Selena Gomez has been on a legendary red carpet run with timeless gown after timeless gown. The red color on her is immaculate and she’s glowing. It’s a very simple silhouette, which I think complements her well. The scarf detail that leads into the train was an amazing way to take this dress to the next level. I also appreciate that her hair is up and not interfering with the collar.
