On October 8, 2025, Harford Community College held its annual College Fair open from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the APGFCU Arena. Students, parents, and school staff were all welcomed and were able to connect with multiple college representatives and gather valuable information for their future.
Top universities such as the University of Maryland were present, along with military organizations, businesses, and industry representatives. The fair offered students a chance to ask questions, collect brochures, and learn about multiple different programs, scholarships, and financial aid options. There were even some freebies like pens, notepads, and stickers!
Last year, more than 2,460 students from various different high schools attended, and many of them were able to secure college application fee waivers for seniors. This helped ease financial burdens for many students during their application process.
“The experience really helped me with my college process,” explained Kaylee Dillard, a senior who attended the college fair. “Seeing all the colleges lined up really helped me see my options for my future.” Students had the chance to speak directly with admissions officers, ask about deadlines, and receive personalized advice at their booths.
“They were really helpful,” said Kelsey Haun, another senior who attended. “They cleared up my questions that I was confused about and even gave me some tips.” College representatives helped many students clear up misunderstandings and gave helpful insights into the application process.
The college fair overall gave many students a chance to explore new possibilities, ask important questions, and take steps toward their future. With the resources provided at the college fair, students left informed and more confident than before. As college deadlines approach, events like this remind students that they are supported and that resources are available.
