2023 Prediction Trends

Adidas Shoes

If you ask most members of Gen Z, they will remember the obsession with Adidas Superstars in 2017. Over the past few months, a couple new Adidas shoes have been rising in popularity, including the Forum Lows and Gazelles. The Gazelles, given the nickname of “Satellite Stompers” after going viral for being the shoes Harry Styles wore during his Love on Tour, were made famous by the dance he did while singing his hit song Satellite. I can only assume these shoes will continue to be trendy in the new year.

Crimped Hair

Crimped hair is coming back! Although this funky hair style was extremely popular in the 80s, it is now coming back in style. Influencers like Greta Wilson have been seen using a thicker crimper to accomplish that beachy wave that we all love while Mada Graviet has used her crimper to revamp her natural curls. These influencers are bringing crimping back.

Puffed Sleeves

Puffed sleeves were previously only seen in “cottage core” styles, but as more feminine styles have been gaining popularity, we’ve seen these cute sleeves on flowy dresses and tops, sold by hot brands like Princess Polly, Grey Bandit and Francesca’s. I think puffed sleeves are going to start popping up more in 2023.

White Eyeliner

Over the past month, Alix Earle has taken over the internet with her “get ready with me” videos. These videos alone have managed to sell out products such as Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in Hope, and the Huda Beauty Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder. One of her signature makeup techniques is putting the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil All-In-One Eyeshadow Eyeliner Pencil in the shade Milk on her water line. This technique makes your eyes look more widened and awake, making it bound to be a trend of 2023.

Fringe

Over the last year, western style has made a comeback. Influencers like Alexis Hidalgo and Ellie Thuman have been seen styling cowboy boots for summer looks, pairing them with sun dresses and denim. Over the last few months, another western style has come back in trend: fringe. Fringe pants, fringe jackets fringe shorts, and even more. The material can even be customized: bedazzled, glitter, fuzzy. Fringe is going to add a subtle southern twist to our everyday outfits in the new year.
