Singer Olivia Rodrigo released her newest album GUTS and got lots of excitement from many teens. Olivia Rodrigo is an actress and singer who has progressed quickly over the past couple of years. She has been in some series such as Bizaardvark and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and has also released lots of music over the past three years.

She released her first album SOUR in 2021, and it quickly got popular around the world. Her most popular song in the album came to be “Driver’s License,” and it was hard to not hear everywhere you turned.

Now, two years later, her music is still appreciated with its variety of different music styles such as pop, indie rock, and alternative rock while it also still relates to and touches people’s hearts.

The album had quite an assortment of songs (to say the least). One song could make you cry while another could get you mad and want to get revenge on someone – which would be a bad idea, right? Her music is definitely different, but also loved by so many people.

She also released extra songs on the vinyls that were put in stores. On the red vinyl she put the song “Obsessed,” on the white is “Scared of my Guitar,” blue is “Stranger,” and purple has “Girl I’ve Always Been.” I have not heard many reviews of these songs yet, but if they are good, I’m sure it won’t be too long before we do.

Jenna Hawk, a junior at FHS, is one of the many fans who bought Rodrigo’s vinyl. Her vinyl had the song “Obsessed,” and she described it as being “angry” and “similar to ‘good 4 u,’ [and] ‘Get Him Back!’” As for the whole album, she “thought the album was good, but not as good as SOUR,” and her favorite song on the album is “Lacy,” which is also a personal favorite of mine.

“Lacy” is a song that Rodrigo wrote about someone she is intimidated by. She uses powerful phrases in the song while also keeping the music calm and quiet, which accompanies Rodrigo’s music style. Rodrigo sings about how she “loathes” Lacy and “[she despises her own] rotten mind and how much it worships [Lacy].” Apparently, fans are trying to take the descriptions from the song and find out who Lacy is in Rodrigo’s life. Is it Gracie Abrams? Sabrina Carpenter? The fans will somehow figure it out in the end.

So, the question is, which song is the best? There is obviously no right answer, but according to sources, her song “Vampire” seems to be taking the lead as #1. Although, the song was released a little over a month before the album was, so let’s just give it some time. Her song “Bad Idea Right?” was also released early and seems to be coming in second to “Vampire.”

From another source, I found a poll on what people now think is the best song since the album was released. First place is “Get Him Back!” and second is “Making the Bed.” Personally, I think “Making the Bed” is the best, but we won’t get into that now.

Rodrigo also announced on September 13th that she is going on the GUTS world tour. The tour starts on February 23rd and goes till August 14th, and it consists of many countries and states like the U.K., France, Canada, and our very own United States. Joining Rodrigo on the tour are singers Chappell Roan, Remi Wolf, The Breeders, and PinkPantherss.

It is safe to say that Olivia Rodrigo is back and better than ever with fresh, new music, and people cannot wait to post, share, and rant about every word of it.
