Prom Dress Shops to Make You Feel like Cinderella

Prom season is quickly approaching, which means it’s time to start looking for dresses.  Tiered ruffle is totally in this year, and it seems with more people wanting a unique look, we may see some people leaning into bold metallic looks or big floral print. There are tons of places around to help you find your perfect dress, so here are some of the best ones, if you’re willing to make the drive, from closest to farthest.

 Cinderella’s Closet –

Many people probably don’t want to spend at least a few hundred dollars on a dress they’re only going to wear once, and Cinderella’s Closet is the perfect place for those people.  It is a non-profit “boutique” for secondhand prom dresses.  There are often pop-up locations locally, and you can find where these are on their Facebook page. Once you are finished with your prom dress, you can donate it so that other girls can buy a near brand-new dress for a quarter of the price.  This is where Emma Callahan went to get her dress, and she was able to find one from Lulu’s with the tags still on it.  “The staff were all amazing,” Callahan said, and “they made what everyone hypes up to be a really stressful time, incredibly easy.”

Lilla’s Bridal Boutique – 42 miles

Lilla’s Bridal Boutique, located in York, Pennsylvania, has a lovely staff and beautiful dresses.  Lilla’s is rated 4.4 stars on Google and that is clearly reflected in Anna Miller’s experience when she went.  She said, “The staff was super kind and patient, and gave honest opinions about dresses I tried on.”  Miller went on about how she is quite picky when it comes to dresses, (she went shopping six different times before finding the perfect dress) and Lilla’s had the perfect selection for her.  They had dresses in a wide variety of dress styles, colors, and sizes.

Cecile Boutique – 48 miles

Cecile Boutique is a small business located in Newark, Delaware, that has dresses for any sort of formal occasion.  The staff here is super helpful and supportive, and when Raley Elliott went dress shopping here, she said, “They didn’t push the budget and actually picked dresses that appealed to me.”  Often dress shops may try to upsell customers, rather than help them find the perfect dress for their occasion, and if you are worried about that, don’t be – Cecile is perfect for you.

 Giana Rose – 118 miles

Giana Rose Couture, in Yardley, Pennsylvania, is a super cute boutique with tons of dresses in all different colors, styles, and sizes.  While prom dress shopping can be very overwhelming, Leah

Rhinehart spoke highly of the staff saying, “Thanks to the staff, I was able to find a dress I loved.”  The staff made Rhinehart feel extremely comfortable, and “the women working made [her] feel so beautiful in every dress.”   While dress shopping can be very overwhelming, the staff at Giana Rose will help you find a dress that you love and is unique to you.

Park Avenue South – 155 miles

Park Avenue South is in Tom’s River, New Jersey, and is another great prom dress shop.  When Lindsey Dettloff went, she said, “The staff was really great.”  Not only did they pick out dresses that followed what seemed like she wanted, but also dresses she may not have chosen that still ended up looking great.  “There was an insane number of dresses to choose from,” she said. “But not so many that I couldn’t get through most of the options.”  If you are an impatient person like Dettloff, “you just have to push through and try on a ton of dresses to find the perfect one for you.”
