Last week, Fallston Men’s basketball celebrated their senior night with a game against the Perryville Panthers. With pregame celebrations, a halftime knockout competition, and the Cougars putting on a show with both offense and defense, it’s safe to say Cougar Nation had a great night.
The night started with the traditional senior walk, where the team’s class of 2025 students walked and accepted gifts from their coaches, celebrating their last home game as a Fallston Cougar. This year the Cougs have four seniors: Dominic Witherspoon, Eli Pearce, Logan Sweitzer, and Johnny Chandler. All seniors started and each one of them contributed to scoring, but they weren’t the only ones putting on a show, as Fallston also enjoyed offensive performances from Oliver Schamburg, John Wirth and others.
The final scoreboard sat at 66-51, with the Cougars on top as they cruised to victory after an electric 21-point first quarter, only letting up seven. Oliver Schamburg led, scoring 19 as Pearce and Sweitzer contributed 9 a piece, while Joey Gross and John Wirth finished with 8 and Johnny Chandler put up 9.
This year, Fallston has added a new tradition to halftimes: letting fans participate in games such as trivia, knockout, or other basketball-themed competitions, awarding winners with gift cards. On senior night it was a knockout game that saw the winner, Owen King, take home a $50 gift card.
The night wrapped up with many hugs and extra pictures, making sure the ceremony would be remembered for years to come. Thank you, seniors!
