Winter sports wrap up

Check out the all-county team recognitions from this past winter!

Emma Callahan, Staff Reporter

This winter season, all of Fallston’s athletes went above and beyond when working for their teams. Their talents and dedication led all of these teams to success, something that many other schools could agree with. Here are your 2022-2023 winter athletes that earned an all-county recognition!

Women’s Basketball

The women’s basketball team had a great season, ending with a record of 17-6 after losing the regional championship. However, though they may not have gone all the way like last year, they still had incredibly valuable players like Ayla Galloway who, with lots of hard work and dedication, earned Player of the Year.

Men’s Basketball

While the men’s basketball team may have not taken home all of the championships they wanted to, they still had a great season. With a record of 10-12, they welcomed many great freshmen to the team who will be very valuable to the team in coming years.

Indoor Track and Field

With an unusually warm winter this season, the indoor Track and Field team was able to have fun while not being bundled up in winter clothing. At their regional meet, their men’s and women’s teams placed eighth overall and they are looking forward to the rest of their spring season with their new coach, Mr. Capozzoli.

Women’s Swimming

The women’s swim team found themselves incredibly successful this season. Taking home first place at the regional meet, county meet, and sixth at the state meet, they surprised even themselves.  Abby Schneider, a senior, also broke the school record for the 100-meter-breaststroke with a time of 1:08:53.
