Rory Gilmore’s Bad Taste in Boys

Who was the best boy for Rory Gilmore to end up with?  Many friendships have ended over the question.  Opinions – which may be right or wrong – spark controversial uproar, but I’m here to settle it once and for all.

For starters, I think everyone can agree that Dean was the worst boyfriend of them all.  He was toxic, indifferent to Rory’s goals, sexist, and incredibly insecure with himself.

Whenever Rory mentioned anything about Harvard, Dean would comment on how he didn’t want to hear about it because it didn’t involve him at all, but if he was a good boyfriend, he would have been supportive and willing to listen.

Also, whenever there was another guy in Rory’s vicinity that Dean thought was even just looking at her, he would get upset and mad at her.  I mean, think about Tristan.  Rory tried to make it very clear to Dean that she was not interested in Tristan at all, but he had his panties in a twist and broke up with her.

Tristan, however, was terrific, but he wasn’t around long enough to be a true contender for best boy since Chad Micheal Murray just had to leave Gilmore Girls to film One Tree Hill.  Tristan and Rory should have dated, but unfortunately, the timing did not work out.

Now let’s talk about Jess.  He’s great, I love him.  He always reappears in Rory’s life when she needs him most.  He was never afraid to call her out and he helped her get her life back on track, especially when she dropped out of Yale.

We can’t, however, forget about how he left Rory without saying goodbye even though he literally saw her that morning.  He may not have always been the best when he and Rory were actually together, but they were great friends and companions after they split.

Moving on to my favorite, the one and only, Logan Huntzberger.  First off, his nickname for Rory, Ace, is just so sweet and really showed how much he admired her, even from the start.  Logan helped get Rory out of her shell and live a little more.  He invited her to jump with him as a part of the “big stunt” at the Life and Death Brigade event.

Rory and Logan were the healthiest of all her relationships, and they were always supportive of each other.  They knew how to make sacrifices for each other and always went back to each other.

This should settle all Gilmore Girls disputes about who the best boy is for Rory because, let’s be honest, it’s not actually a discussion – Logan Huntzberger is truly the only one for Rory Gilmore.
