Fallston students and staff were ecstatic when HPCS announced that we would have the day off on Monday, January 6, 2025. Coming back to school after winter break was a struggle and everyone was ready for another break, and that is exactly what we got.
Many people spent their day productively, but others just spent the day resting. That is until we got the call that there would be no school Tuesday, as well. This gave some people an extra day to rest and others more time to play in the snow.
There were a wide variety of students and teachers that stayed in the warmth of their homes. But some decided to venture out and take advantage of the first snow fall.
Here are some of the things that the staff and students did at Fallston, on their day off:
Teachers and their families had a wonderful time in the snow too. Mr. And Mrs. Chatterton’s daughter and Mrs. Majewski’s son enjoyed sledding and eating snowballs.
Maddy Burch, a junior at Fallston, went on a hike with her dad. There is a trail in her backyard that leads to a state park, and on her way, she got a picture on a bridge that captured the beautiful snowy landscape.
While she took advantage of the little break we had to get more sleep, Samantha Evans, a sophomore at Fallston, decided to bundle up and take on the snowy state that we were left in.
Snow days are fun for senior Sophie Perri because she won’t have to make up the days at the end of the year. She decided to brace the cold and take her horse out for a ride; this seems like a great way to spend the first snow day of the year.
Many other students spent their time sleeping, catching up on assignments before 2nd quarter ends, or shoveling the snowy driveways in their neighborhood. Students and teachers definitely took advantage of the day we had off.
Hopefully, there will be more snow days to come!
