On Wednesday, January 22, Best Buddies held a fundraiser at the Forest Hill Chipotle. Many club members, friends, and family attended to help raise money and awareness for the club. The fundraiser was successful, reaching the goal of at least $75 set by club officials.
In case you didn’t know, Best Buddies is a national organization where individuals with IDD (Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities) are brought together with peers at their school in an inclusive environment to make friends and have fun.
Best Buddies is fundraising for various reasons: to pay the chapter fee, go on field trips, and even organize events of their own. “All the money goes towards giving our members fun experiences,” said Vice President EV Freeman. “I just want the new members to have as much fun as I’ve had being a member.”
All in all, the fundraiser was very successful. They raised a little under $100 in total thanks to all of those who came. “I would just like to thank everyone who came in support of Best Buddies,” said club President Elizabeth Bromley.“It’s truly appreciated.”
