This past Monday, November 17th, Fallston High School’s swim team dove into the start of their 2025–2026 season, and excitement is already building. Returning swimmers and new additions promise a great start to this season as the Cougars aim to top last year’s achievements.
Fallston’s swimmers have been training hard and are eager to swim at their first meet on December 8th against Joppatowne and Havre de Grace. Let’s hear directly from the swimmers about what they’re looking forward to this season.
Sophomore Ben Montoya, says he’s most excited for the meets and the fun practices that bring the team together. “It’s such a fun environment,” he says. Junior and manager, Noah Dubé. highlights the excitement of meets, especially for newer swimmers. “It allows the swimmers, especially those who are new to the sport, to show how much they’ve improved throughout the season,” he said
Maddy Burch, senior and captain, is looking forward to enjoying her last season with her teammates. “I definitely am focused more on showing up for my teammates and doing the best I can,” she said. She hopes to build strong friendships with new swimmers, just as she experienced as an underclassman. Maddy added that she’d love to see more support at senior night: “Swimming doesn’t get enough hype. For one of my last meets ever, I’m really looking forward to looking up and seeing all my friends and family supporting me in the stands.”
Not only is it fun, but the team is anticipating a strong season. Last year’s captain Jenny Phillips is excited for the team’s many new swimmers. “I’m hoping that the dry land workouts I’m making for the team will put us at an advantage for counties and regionals,” Jenny explains.
As Fallston’s swimmers prepare for their first meet on December 8th against Joppatowne and Havre de Grace, the season is officially underway. With both returning athletes and new team members contributing, the months ahead will offer opportunities to see how the Cougars build on last year’s results. Show up and show out for your swim team this year!
