On January 12th, 2026, the Fallston Swim team held their Senior Night meet at Edgewood Middle School, facing off against the Aberdeen Eagles. There are 9 seniors currently on the team, Maddy Burch, Amelia Depaolo, Sara Dorsey, Emma Fazenbaker, Madi Hoyer, Theo Kidwell, Avery Mendoza, Eiley Moos, and Jenny Phillips. There are five captains on the Fallston Swim Team: Maddy Burch, Emma Fazenbaker, Madi Hoyer, Theo Kidwell, and Jenny Phillips.

All seniors have swum for multiple years on the FHS swim team; all seniors were able to swim in a race of their choice at their meet night:
Maddy Burch has been here four years and swam four events, one of which was 100 back, where she won first with a time of 1:22.07. Amelia Depaolo and Avery Mendoza both have been on the team for 3 years, swimming two events each: Amelia swam the 200-medley relay and the 100 backstroke, her backstroke with a time of 1:29.47; Avery swam a 100 free and 200 free, her 200 free having a time of 2.55. Sara Dorsey swam four events during the meet night: 200 free, the 200 freestyle relay, 400 freestyle relay, and the100 breaststroke with a time of 1:57.06. Emma Fazenbaker has swam here four years and swam four events: 200 medley relay, 200 IM, 100 fly, and 400 medley relay; her 200 IM time was 3:15.07! Madi Hoyer swam four events as well: the 200 IM Relay (butterfly), 200 Freestyle, 400 Free Relay (4th leg), and 100 Freestyle with a time of 1:03.4. Theo Kidwell swam 2 relays and 2 individual events: 50 free and 100 backstroke at 1:01.96. Eiley Moos had 50 free time: 32.99. Jenny Phillips swam the 200 IM A relay, 500 free, 100 breaststroke, and the 400 free A relay.

The seniors recalled the memories of their time on the team, the times at IHOP, hanging out between meet events, mentoring from previous upperclassmen, and always making sure their teammates feel supported when swimming. “I loved my time here on the Fallston swim team,” Jenny Phillips said. “It truly saved me… I’m glad I was able to spend this last year with my best friends Maddy Burch and Amelia DePaolo.”
There was a common sentiment shared between teammates, and that was the impact they had felt from their senior classmates before them. “My favorite part about this team is the people,” Maddy Burch reflected. “I will be forever grateful for… the opportunity to swim with my brother for three of those years and was able to be captain with him for one [year.]” Many upperclassmen were close friends with the now seniors, giving students a chance to have mentoring and friendships that they could cherish past the seniors’ time in FHS. No doubt that the nine seniors on this year’s team had a strong impact on the FHS Swim Team legacy, good luck in future endeavors, and congratulations on your senior night celebrations!
