On February 9th, Harford County Public Schools announced the 54 nominees for the 2026 Teacher of the Year. Of them, our own physical education teacher Mrs. Grant has been nominated.
While the news doesn’t come as a shock to many of her students, Mrs. Grant shares that the nomination was a surprise. “There are so many fantastic teachers in Harford County and particularly at Fallston High School, and I am honored to be nominated,” she says.
This is Mrs. Grant’s 26th year teaching, and she feels “so fortunate to be at Fallston High School [her] entire career.” Mrs. Grant describes Fallston High School as a place filled with “great students and families,” and says that the relationships she builds in the classroom are one of the most rewarding parts of her career.
Over the years, she has formed connections with students that have lasted long after graduation, something she considers a privilege of teaching. She also loves sharing her passion for health and physical education, hoping to inspire her students to develop healthy habits, active lifestyles, and a commitment to lifelong fitness. Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Grant appreciates the strong sense of community among staff, noting that Fallston’s supportive teachers and administration make the school an even better place to work and learn.
Mrs. Grant has decided to move forward with the nomination process, noting that she believes “it is important to honor our profession and those that have nominated [her] by moving forward with the nomination.”
We are so excited for Mrs. Grant to represent our High School, Health, and Physical Education department. Congratulations, Mrs. Grant!
